Tool Maker

Responsibilities:

  • Programs, sets up, and operates CNC machine tools and Tool Room equipment to manufacture, repair and revise components for molds, fixtures, and related tools in a safe and timely manner
  • Ensures components are manufactured to build plans that allow for proper fit and assembly to final design specifications.
  • Uses CAD/CAM technology to produce tools
  • Monitors tooling resource queues utilizing MRP systems to ensure operations are completed on time.
  • Informs the appropriate stakeholders of any expected delays or potential impacts to tool performance or delivery.
  • Inspects machined components and records dimensional data.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 Years tool making experience required
  • Experience with CNC machining, both set up and operation is required
  • 2 Year technical degree in Machine Tool Trades/Tool and Die desired
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming desired
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate adequate job knowledge to deliver a world class performance
  • Ability to challenge oneself to consistently meet all goals and deadlines
  • Willingness to strive for excellence by producing work that is free of errors and mistakes
